#TodayImWearing Trainers and a pencil skirt

Sometimes I struggle with what to wear on a weekend. I spend the whole week looking smart, obviously apart from Friday’s to which the ‘Bingo Tights‘ will testify, so at the weekend I want to push the boat out a bit and go for something a little edgier.

Every weekend I encounter the same problem… I’m going to have to walk for miles, or at the very least be on my feet for several hours and heels are just not an option. But I don’t want to put on the same uniform of jeans and T-shirt every weekend.

Therefore, today I attempted to pair my black wedge trainers with my leopard print pencil skirt. I think it went pretty well:

The wedge trainers were full price at £24.99 from Deichman. I love them. It’s an uncharacteristic step away from my usual discount hunting but I struggled to find any in the sale and this particular bandwagon was one that I was desperate to cling on to.

With just the top and the skirt I looked fine, you know, it would do. But I wanted more than that, I need to stand out from the tide of leopard print presently taking over the high street. This belt is the zenith of all belts. It goes with everything. Some of you may disagree but I’m afraid my ears are closed. I will not listen to reason where this belt is concerned. In my humble opinion, it gave the whole outfit an edgier feel.

Bizarely enough, I was partially inspired by the Dolce and Gabbana advert featured in this mornings post, rather proving my point.
